FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY & PAINTING MASTERCLASSES ON TOUR

Unique, culinary experiences for artisan cheese, food and wine enthusiasts

At Cheese Journeys, our passion for artisan cheese and wine knows no bounds so every tour is designed for fellow enthusiasts and feature creative culinary experiences.

Food photography masterclasses led by Tenaya Darlington, aka Madame Fromage, a Cheese Journeys Educator and Tour Co-host, are an opportunity for guests to take their camera skills to another level (using their smart-phones).  Tenaya leads these creative classes first by presenting guests with stunning references of professional food photography and then educating on the basics, such as how to work with natural light and how to maximise smart-phone settings. Guests are guided on how best to style and capture a meticulously built cheeseboard by shooting at different angles, and then incorporating artful elements, such as knives and condiments. This then informs camera action throughout the tour as we encourage everyone to photograph the culinary experiences we serve up! The masterclass is designed for beginners, though practised photographers are welcome to join in the fun.

Then we have our painting masterclasses led by long-time Cheese Journeys friend and collaborator, Mike Geno, who often joins us on tour in Britain and France. Mike is a Fine Artist from Philadelphia whose subject (or muse!)  of choice is cheese. He hosts painting classes on location (think Drawing Room of North Cadbury Court, the English manor on our UK tour) that make the perfect setting for guests to conjure up their inner artist and try their hand at crafting a masterpiece.

If you like to up-skill when on your travels, you’ll love our immersive creative classes. Check out our Savoie France and Switzerland, British Cheese Odyssey, Netherlands and Belgium tours!
